The Biggest Football Stadium in the PAC-10: Does Size Really Matter?
From the largest to the loudest, PAC-10 fans have their say in which stadium is the best. Did your favorite stadium make the list? Discover the largest, loudest and toughest stadiums in the PAC-10.

From the largest to the loudest, discover the football stadiums of the PAC-10. Some of the smallest stadiums in the PAC-10 have boasted several of the best wins and records in recent years. Can’t you just hear the screaming fans as Oregon beat Oklahoma at home or when Oregon State upset USC at Reser Stadium? The success of Washington State and Oregon State has led their athletic directors to begin stadium renovations and expansion.

  1. UCLA’s Rose Bowl (98,636)
  2. USC’s Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (92,000)
  3. Stanford Stadium (85,500)
  4. ASU’s Sun Devil Stadium (73,379)
  5. California’s Memorial Stadium (73,347)
  6. Washington’s Husky Stadium (72,500)
  7. Arizona Stadium (57,803)
  8. UO’s Autzen Stadium (54,000)
  9. OSU’s Reser Stadium (43,300) * including recent renovations but when Raising Reser Project is completed, Reser Stadium will hold 55,000
  10. WSU’s Martin Stadium (43,000) * including recent renovations

Here are my votes for some other stadium winners:

  • Loudest – University of Oregon’s Autzen Stadium – hey, even Michigan coach Lloyd Carr later said that Autzen Stadium was the loudest stadium he'd ever been in!
  • Largest – Rose Bowl – coming in at #5 on the top 40 largest stadiums in 1-A should make the PAC-10 proud.
  • Most technologically advanced – Oregon State’s Reser Stadium – with the biggest videoboard in the Pac-10, the Beavers are proud of their “DamCam”
  • Toughest – WSU’s Martin Stadium – although it’s the smallest of the PAC-10 stadiums, playing in the Palouse, in snow flurries and cold, surrounded by screaming fans can be considered intimidating
  • Oldest – Washington’s Husky Stadium was built in 1920, with original seating of 30,000. It now holds over 72,000 fans.
  • Newest – WSU’s Martin Stadium was finished in 1972, currently under renovation to expand seating. A fire at Roger’s Field destroyed the old WSU stadium in 1970.
  • Most conference wins at home 2007-08 - The top 5 PAC-10 teams for conference home wins last season were USC 5-1, ASU 3-1, OSU 3-3, Oregon 3-2 and UCLA 2-4.

Thanks Bob. I guess my sources were wrong, or out-dated. It will be great when Reser is completed, and then will move up the list.

Stanford has a new stadium, that seats 50,000. The old 85,000 stadium was torn down and replaced with the newer (smaller) one.
