Ducks 2007 Season Review :uofo logo

A Fan's Perspective on the Ducks

What started out as a promising season, lost some of its momentum when quarterback Dennis Dixon tore his ACL in the game against Arizona on November 3rd. after attempting to rehabilitate his knee, the quarterback could only play part of the first quarter, giving U of O an eight point head start against Arizona State, before his knee gave out.   Dixon wasn’t the only player this season to sustain an injury that would end his season early; six others faced the same outcome of this season.

Shortly before Dixon’s injury the Ducks were ranked number two. They are now ranked 23rd according to the Associated Press Top 25, and 24th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. They are 3rd of four Pac-10 teams to make the lists. It’s the highest ranking the team has had since 2005 when it was 12th on both lists.

The Ducks won their first game since the lost of Dixon at the Sun Bowl where they dominated South Florida 56-21, and junior running back, Jonathon Stewart’s Career high of 253 yards rushing.  Way to come back ducks!
